excuse my tone, but I have had enough of sentimental simplifications. I don't want to be chic and I would hate to be politically correct.
Listen, I know that the chic thing to say right now is that we are good but the police are murderers.
Somehow, in war, you always have to take sides and you'd better be on the right side (or someone will set you on fire?) But, is this a civil war? Who is fighting this war? Who is against who? I am supposed to be against the police? How funny! I feel that I am not. It would be disgustingly easy! Nevertheless, I am sick with the pretty assholes of the dominant elites of all kinds, trendy or old-fashioned but always self-interested, who have betrayed me and everyone, after betraying basically their own principles (if they ever had any).
Is this about ideology? Is this not about covering up the problem after all?
The rotten political and economic elites everywhere in the political spectrum with their dominant ideology of self interest and opportunism, these very same people are either hiding or using police as a scapegoat. The political struggle is much more complex. The elites of all kinds have disowned their responsibilities and thrown so many people into apathy and despair, while they were getting rich or very very comfortable. No matter what discourse they were using, their actions were teaching our children that only money and success count, that you'd better get there or be a looser! and suddenly, the indoctrinated and apathetic masses looked in the mirror and saw no other prospect but to be loosers! total loosers in a threatening world crisis. Right when they were expected to deliver, the elites, have no answers to anything.
I have always chosen to be an observer and I have the right at this moment to stick my tongue at simplifying discourses.
OK. OK. I can't teach anyone the importance of principles and the importance of good education for all, one should know these things already if one thinks he/she is a democrat. You could even ask Obama about it. It's too late for words over here, we need acts of significance to return to social peace before we mourn more dead children, citizens or policemen. Because policemen are also young kids from unprivileged families thrown on the streets with minimum training and given guns and under an obligation to face violent riots! They need firm leadership to perform. What are we leading them into by screaming like mad indiscriminately? Where is their leadership? Where is leadership anywhere, now that they ought to assume their responsibility?
I refuse to take sides in this, I refuse to appear politically correct, I refuse to be sentimental.
The questions go much deeper than good and bad, black and white.
